Goose Fair Nottingham

a group of people in a large city

Did you happen to know that Nottingham has hosted the “Goose Fair” for over 700 years? It was first created and hosted in 1284, where people specifically went to buy geese. Today it is more like a festival, sadly not to buy geese, but to have fun with friends and family. The Goose Fair has hundreds of attractions, games, food stalls, and music. Of course locals wait anxiously every year just to enjoy the energetic atmosphere.

The Goose Fair is still held annually, and takes place Wednesday through Sunday during the first week of October, at Forest Recreation Ground. The only times the fair had to be cancelled was in 1646 during the bubonic plague, both world wars and 2020 during Covid 19. We are excited for 2021!
